Let's build Prosper, Samantha

You are in. The receipt is on its way to your inbox, and Buck will text you to confirm Monday's strategy session, where the build starts.

Partnership Scope · Prepared for

Prosper Magazine

Samantha Burgess · Founder and Editor in Chief

A six-month partnership to take Prosper from an idea with a contributor list to a magazine people hold, read online and talk about. You lead the creative: the contributors, the editorial direction, the look and the flow of every issue. Buck and the Qinary team take on everything technical, strategic and digital and run the media side the way we run it for our other clients, so you never have to think about it: the brand system, the site and digital edition, the subscriber engine, the design and production of the print issues, distribution, and the growth plan. Buck writes for Prosper too.

Option one · monthly

Six-Month Partnership

$2,997/month

Six monthly payments. Everything in this scope, a weekly strategy call, Buck's direct line, and the team in the build. $17,982 across the six months.

Option two · pay in full

Partnership Discount

$14,997 once

Commit to the full six months up front and the sixth month is on us. Six months of partnership for the price of five.

01 / What's included

Six pieces, itemized.

Prosper is a legacy magazine for people who built something: the families behind the winery, the farm, the firm and the fund, told beautifully, for readers who fly private and the readers who want to. Quarterly in print to start, every day online, and built from the first issue to grow into events, awards and more. This is what it takes to get there, and who does which part.

01
Build · months one to two

The Foundation

Everything Prosper runs on, built once and built properly, so the magazine is a system and not a scramble before every issue.

  • The Prosper brand system: wordmark, type, color and layout rules, developed in the direction you set, applied everywhere by our designers
  • prosper-magazine.com: the site, the digital edition, the story pages, the contributor pages and the subscribe path
  • The subscriber engine: list, email platform, welcome series and the issue-day send, owned by Prosper
  • Analytics on the site, the email and social, in one dashboard, read for you monthly
  • The editorial system: the calendar, the contributor pipeline from pitch to proof, deadlines and the asset library
  • Print-ready layout production by our design team, so you direct the look of every spread and never touch InDesign
02
Strategy · month one

Positioning and the Launch Plan

Who Prosper is for, what it stands for, and the path from issue one to a national title, written down with milestones so every decision after it is faster.

  • Positioning: legacy, enterprise and the finer side of life, with a feminine eye and a readership that includes the men at the table
  • The reader avatars, modeled from third party data, and the places they already are
  • The editorial pillars: founders and family businesses, capital and real estate, places (Aspen, Jackson Hole, Palm Beach, Napa, Charleston, Scottsdale and the next ones), and the people shaping each
  • The distribution plan: private aviation lounges and FBOs, luxury hotels and clubs, partner offices, and the route to bookstores
  • The cadence: quarterly print in year one, with the path to bimonthly and monthly mapped against subscribers and revenue
  • Milestones for the six months and the twelve after them
03
Production · issue one and two

Issue One, Produced

You decide what goes in and how it feels. We produce it, print it and ship it, then do it again for issue two inside the six months.

  • Issue plan: features, departments, page count and the running order, built with you from your contributor lineup
  • Contributor templates, briefs and deadlines, so articles arrive ready to design
  • Editing and proofing on every page, and the layout of every spread by our designers to your direction
  • Photography direction and sourcing, with the Qinary studio in Scottsdale available for cover and feature shoots
  • Print vendor quotes, paper and finish samples, and the print run managed end to end
  • The digital edition of each issue, published the same day, with the bonus content print cannot hold
04
Every week

Prosper Every Day

Print is the prize. Digital is how people find it. The site, the email and the social accounts work every week between issues.

  • Weekly digital stories on the site, drawn from the issue pipeline and the deeper interviews print cannot fit
  • Prosper's Instagram built from zero: the visual system, the posting rhythm and the editing, in the register you want
  • The newsletter, on a set day, growing the list issue by issue
  • Every cover, feature and contributor turned into social content so each issue works for months
  • Trackable links on everything, so we know what pulls readers and subscribers
  • Numbers read and explained every month: readers, subscribers, opens and what to do next
05
Growth · months three to six

The Revenue Map

Prosper is pre-revenue by design in the first months. The work here is to make sure that when it is time to earn, the doors are already built.

  • The advertiser and partner list, started from Buck's network: capital and real estate firms, technology, luxury and mindset brands that pay for the right exposure
  • A media kit and rate card, ready by issue two
  • The Prosper Awards: the recognition program for advisors, founders and family enterprises, designed as a paid-entry program like the ones Buck ran in the agency world
  • Events: the format, the first city and the partners who would host
  • The Prosper podcast: the format and the plan to launch it from the Scottsdale studio when the time is right
  • A simple model of where the money comes from, so the partnership conversation at the end of the six months is about real numbers
06
Every week

Buck: Partner, Builder, Contributor

Not advice from the side. Buck is in the build with you every week, and in the magazine itself.

The rhythm
  • A weekly strategy call with Buck, plus his direct line in between
  • Buck manages the team and the pieces that go out, so you are reviewing work, not chasing it
  • A shared Slack channel with the Qinary team for the day to day
In the magazine
  • Buck writes for Prosper as a contributor in each issue and on the site
  • Introductions from Buck's network for features, interviews and partners
  • The Qinary studio in Scottsdale for shoots, interviews and, later, the podcast
02 / How it runs

Foundation first, issue one by month three, issue two before the six months end.

The brand system and the site come first because everything else sits on them. The month ranges below are how it usually runs and depend on how quickly the contributor pieces land.

Month 01
Foundation

Strategy session, brand system and the plan

We start Monday with the strategy session: your vision, the mood boards, the contributor lineup and the first issue. From it come the positioning, the reader avatars, the editorial pillars and the launch plan. Our designers develop the Prosper brand system in your direction, and the site build starts.

Month 02
Build and produce

Site live, subscribers open, issue one in layout

prosper-magazine.com goes live with the subscribe path and the first digital stories. The email platform and analytics are in place. Issue one moves from briefs to edited pieces to designed spreads, and print quotes come in.

Month 03
Issue one

Print and launch

Issue one prints and ships, the digital edition publishes the same day, and the launch runs across the site, the newsletter and social. Distribution placements start with the first lounges, clubs and partner offices.

Month 04
Grow

Readers, partners and the awards

Weekly digital stories and the newsletter keep the list growing. The media kit and rate card are built, the first partner conversations open, and the Prosper Awards and podcast are designed on paper.

Month 05
Issue two

Issue two in production

The second issue runs through the same system, faster this time, with the first partner pages if they are ready. Distribution widens to the next cities on the list.

Month 06
Review

Issue two out, and the partnership conversation

Issue two ships. Before the six months end, we sit down with the numbers and decide together what the longer partnership looks like: an ongoing role, a growth partner commission, equity, or a mix, reviewed annually from there.

03 / Who does what

You shape it. We build it and run it.

The creative is yours, and we are here to speed it up wherever you want us to. Everything technical, strategic and digital is ours.

Your side

The creative lead
  • The vision, the mood boards and the brand voice
  • The contributor lineup and the relationships behind it
  • Editorial direction: what goes in each issue and why
  • The layout and flow of an issue, directing our designers
  • Approvals on the brand system, the site and every issue before it prints
  • The weekly strategy call with Buck

You never have to build a site, set up an email platform, manage a printer or run a dashboard.

Our side

Everything else
  • Positioning, reader avatars, the launch plan and the milestones
  • The brand system, applied by our designers
  • The site, the digital edition, the subscriber engine and analytics
  • The editorial system, contributor templates, editing and proofing
  • Layout and production of every issue, and the print run
  • Weekly digital stories, the newsletter and Prosper's Instagram
  • The distribution plan and the partner, awards, events and podcast groundwork
  • Buck's writing, his introductions and the studio
  • Managing all of it, week to week

Prosper, its brand, its list and its content belong to you the whole way through.

04 / Investment

Every line, itemized.

All figures are in US dollars. This is priced as a partnership, not as a normal engagement, because Prosper is not producing revenue yet and because Buck is personally invested in building it with you.

Service Agreement and Resource Reservation

By submitting payment, Client agrees to the following terms. This payment constitutes a binding service agreement between Client, being Samantha Burgess and the company named at checkout for Prosper Magazine, and Qinary Corporation, an Arizona corporation ("Company"). Upon execution of this agreement, a dedicated team is assembled and assigned to Client's account. All fees are billed in advance to reserve team capacity and production resources, and payment is due in full regardless of utilization. Non-participation, including missed meetings, unanswered communications, or failure to supply access or materials, does not constitute grounds for cancellation, pause, credit or refund. All fees are stated and charged in United States dollars.

Term and Payment Options

This agreement runs for a committed term of six consecutive months from the date of first payment. Client may choose either monthly payment, being $2,997 per month charged automatically on the same date in each of the six months, or on the last day of a shorter month, for a total of $17,982, or a single payment in full of $14,997 at execution. Both options cover the same scope. Early termination during the six-month term requires payment of all remaining monthly payments; a payment in full is not refundable in whole or in part.

What Comes After the Term

Before the end of the six-month term the parties will meet to review the engagement and discuss any longer arrangement, which may include a continued role for Company, a growth or commission arrangement, an equity arrangement, or a combination, to be reviewed annually. Nothing in this agreement grants Company any ownership interest, equity, royalty or commission in Prosper Magazine or Client's business, and any such arrangement requires a separate written agreement signed by both parties. If no new arrangement is signed, the services end at the close of the term with no further obligation on either side, other than payment of any sums due.

Scope

Company will provide strategy, including positioning, reader avatars, editorial pillars, a launch and distribution plan and milestones; a brand system for Prosper developed in Client's creative direction; the Prosper website and digital edition including a subscriber path; a subscriber email platform with a welcome series and issue-day sends; analytics reporting monthly; an editorial system including contributor templates, editing, proofing and the layout of two print issues by Company's designers to Client's direction; management of the print run for those issues; weekly digital stories, a newsletter and a Prosper Instagram account; a partner list, media kit and rate card; planning documents for an awards program, events and a podcast; a weekly strategy call with Buck Wise and his availability by phone and message between calls; written contributions by Buck Wise to each issue and the website; and use of Company's studio in Scottsdale, Arizona for Prosper shoots by arrangement. Client retains creative direction and final approval of the brand system, the website and each issue before it prints. Unused calls and studio sessions do not roll over.

Costs Billed Separately

Print runs and postage, hosting, domains, email and publishing platform subscriptions, photography and travel outside Scottsdale, paid advertising spend, event costs, and legal costs including trademark filings are not included in the fee. Company will quote each such cost in writing for Client's approval before it is incurred, and it is billed at cost on a separate invoice or paid directly by Client. Platform accounts are opened in Prosper's name wherever the platform allows.

Content and Intellectual Property

The Prosper name, brand system, website, subscriber list, content and all deliverables created by Company for Client under this agreement are the property of Client upon full payment of the fees due. Articles written by Buck Wise for Prosper are licensed to Client for publication in Prosper in print and online without limit of time, and Buck Wise retains the right to republish his own articles elsewhere after first publication in Prosper. Contributor content remains subject to the terms Client agrees with each contributor. Company retains the right to showcase the work in portfolio, case studies and promotional materials unless Client provides written objection.

Client Responsibilities

Client is responsible for securing contributor agreements and the rights to any content, images and names supplied to Company, for timely approvals, and for the accuracy of financial, legal and professional information published. Company will flag anything it believes needs review, and Client is responsible for obtaining its own legal and compliance advice on published content.

Results

Readership, subscriber growth, distribution placements, advertising revenue and the outcome of any partnership discussion depend on factors outside this engagement, including market conditions and the decisions of third parties. Services are provided on a best-effort professional basis and no specific result is guaranteed.

Refunds

Qinary Corporation does not issue refunds under any circumstances. Payment of any invoice constitutes acceptance of these terms.
